AXN Action Awards was an awards ceremony, honoring and recognizing work done by the action heroes of Bollywood, the Indian film industry. The awards were instituted in 2006 by AXN, a cable and satellite TV channel owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment. The awards have been instituted to recognize and encourage the emergence of the Action genre in Bollywood. Since then, the awards have been presented every year. The 2008 AXN Action Awards, which recognized the work done by the action heroes of Bollywood, was open for voting. People voted for their favorite action heroes, films and directors. The last date for voting was June 15, 2008. The winner of the actual contest was expected to be declared by the AXN channel. However it has not been declared yet and the exact date when it will be announced is still unknown.
